Felicia Johnson

Felicia “FeFe” Johnson is a freelance makeup artist and Senior Editor for LV Magazine. She discovered her love for makeup in 2007, while studying Technical Theater at Rutgers University. During her time there, she learned the skills of prop fabrication, character makeup, wig making, and costume design. Though she enjoyed all aspects of her theater training, makeup is what she was drawn to the most.

In 2010, Felicia began working as a makeup artist on short films to help supplement the cost of school. What first started as a fun hobby quickly blossomed into a booming full-time business. Within the first year, Felicia began heading entire makeup departments for a number of productions.

Ever so ambitious, Felicia wanted more. She wanted to branch out of theater and film and expand more in the beauty industry. In 2012, she enrolled at Last Looks Makeup Academy where she continued her education under the direction of two prestigious makeup artists, Mitch Ely and Jill McKay.

With her new knowledge of beauty makeup and experience leading artists, Felicia quickly began securing positions managing teams for runway shows. In September of 2013, Felicia held the position of Key Makeup Artist for Jersey City Fashion Week. The following season, she would find herself holding the title of both Key Makeup Artist and Key Hairstylist for Jersey City Fashion Week Presents: Football Fashion Week. The XLVIII Super Bowl Host Committee recognized this event as an official event for the 2014 Super Bowl.

In addition to fashion shows, Felicia has had the pleasure of working with companies like Cover Girl Cosmetics, Glamours Chicks Cosmetics, Seventeen Magazine, Xtreme Bikes Magazine, VH1, and CBS.

Her years of practice not only taught her how to enhance one’s inner beauty but also how to successfully operate a business. Once Felicia decided to make FeFe Makeup Artistry her full-time profession, she enrolled in Essex County College to study Business Management. Drafting documents, developing marketing campaigns, organizing finances, these are all critical skills she learned during her education.

Currently, Felicia serves as Senior Editor to LV Magazine. She enjoys working alongside her mother and LV Magazine founder Lavern Spruill. Together they oversee the operation of LV Magazine and offer business services such as contracts, press kits, and business plans. Their most recent collaboration is The Reeves, a horror short film written, directed, and produced by Lavern.
